Channa Boon<\/strong> lives in The Hague and\u00a0 engages with multi -media works encompassing film, video, performance, acoustics, drawings and installation work.\u00a0<\/span>While obtaining her BA in Fine Arts and MA in Film in The Hague and Amsterdam, Boon\u2019s practice is research based. Travelling the world <\/span>the different properties outlined beneath are being given shape in the works, alternating or combining<\/span> (public) space, the (architectural) landscape and the (human or non-human) body. Specific stories or historical accounts are the core inspirations in these projects, while the steering and focal points in these production processes are:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n – the Acoustic Body: living in a caleidoscopic environment in which lineair thinking and story telling has ended, Boon finds her surroundings becoming \u2018acoustic\u2019 in a multi sensory way*, developing the notion of the \u2018Acoustic Body\u2019 which is the development of the human, the non-human, space and the object into a multi dimensional instrument that carries the potentiality of sound. This phenomen Boon applies in all her works, be it performance, film, drawings or installation works.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n – Clay as both a poetic as well as a concrete tool. It can evaporate easily with water or wind, but can remain forever when fired. It has endless applications as well as symbolic meanings. At the moment there is a series of works and projects in the making as well as collaborations with people and spaces: amongst them the ongoing exhibition in EKWC: Wall and Khachapuri \u2013 Modular Acoustics, as well as collaborations with composers (to be announced in 2021).<\/span><\/p>\n Boon\u2019s works has been shown widely throughout the world in museum\u2019s, galleries, artist\u2019s run spaces and festivals and during residenties throughout the world: the CAC Vilnius, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice, the <\/span>56th Venice Biennale \u2018All The World\u2019s Futures\u2019 and \u2018Future Rhythms\u2019, Venice, MINUS SPACE Brooklyn, NY, the Sioux Art Center, Iowa, the EYE Film Museum, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Kunstraum Walcheturm Z\u00fcrich, the Kunstfabrik Am Flutgraben, Olaf St\u00fcber Gallery Berlin, the Mudeung Museum of Contemporary Art, Gwanju, Gallery Loop, the National Museum and the Total Museum of Contemporary Art, <\/span>Chang Dong Artist\u2019s Studio\u2019s, <\/span>Seoul and many others.<\/span>\u00a0 She is the co-founder of artist\u2019s run space LUXUS as well as Helicopter in The Hague and is lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art and Conservatoire in The Hague.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
