On the 13th of May (Saturday), at the Helicopter<\/strong> project space, we present 3 experimental sets. 2 musical sets and 1 short film screening:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting musician Felix-Florian T\u00f6dtloff, <\/strong>a musician and engineer from Berlin who works in the field of instrumental experimental music. He will bring us ambient and drone with electric guitar, synthesizer and field recordings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hague-based American percussionist Christian Smith <\/strong>plays \u2018Discrete Species\u2019 (2011-2023), a collaborative effort between him and musician Douglas Farrand.  \u2018Discrete Species\u2019 is modular work for solo performer and percussion, with auxiliary electronics and video.  This version is created specifically for the Helicopter performance space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filmmaker Vita Soul Wilmering, <\/strong>who in many of her projects plays with fictional elements and lets people switch between role-playing and reality. In this sense, the process of making becomes a visible part of her work. In the evening, we will show her work:  THE FAILED HOLIDAY \u2013 EPISODE 10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

an intimate family portrait in which the camera, used alternately by two daughters, mother and father, becomes an independent witness to the circumstances and changes in their family home. The film begins during the lockdown, when time stands still and the neighbours and construction workers are the only people in the filmmaker\u2019s immediate vicinity. Isolated in her apartment, she begins to dig through her archive of home videos and short films that she and her sister made together in their early teens. From the beginning, film seems to have been a common thread in their lives. It seems to be what somehow held things together when the family fell apart and stories were a welcome escape for the sisters.<\/em>

Felix-Florian T\u00f6dtloff (DE) \u2013 Ambient Electronics<\/strong>
Felix is a musician and producer from Berlin, Germany, who works mainly in the fields of ambient and drone, mixing synthesizer pads, electric guitar and field recordings to create lush, melancholic sound collages. He is part of the experimental duos Magazine Magazine and The Old Dream of Symmetry, and leads the improvisational rock group Swoosh.

Vita works as an artist, filmmaker, performer and musician. Starting her projects from a documentary film base, she considers the performative space that a camera evokes as a tool to create friendships and communicate on an intimate level with the people she works with, integrating the process of making into the work itself.
