Emiel Zeno

Emiel Zeno (b. 1994 in Utrecht) lives and works in Amsterdam. In 2017, he received a BA in Fine Arts from the School of Arts in Utrecht and is currently a resident at De Ateliers, Amsterdam. Zeno’s work starts small, where he anatomises and edits situations in quest for usable parts of interactions. The work mostly translates itself throughout details in created environments. Zeno critiques back and forth (mostly backwards) the previous steps in his process.

The work is driven by an interest in platforms such as youtube instructional videos and traffic infrastructures. To him, they can be indicators of human social relations, creation, and civilisation. To him, they offer possibilities and information.
